Ms. Nielsen’s science class wrapped up their solar system unit with a bang! Thanks to some awesome donors she was able to let student pick out anything they’d like to help build their models. We made a plan, shopped for any supplies needed and built the models in class. The students put so much time into these and were so engaged!!

Ms. Nielsen’s life skills class is hard at work making tacos this week. Thanks to a grant Ms. Nielsen received from the Clinton County Farm Bureau, she is able to have her kids participate in cooking in the classroom. The students have learned how to keep a budget, look up and read recipes, and make a grocery list. Each week they take a trip to Walmart to purchase ingredients and then the following day they are all hands on deck participating in the cooking and cleaning. Of course their favorite part is enjoying the dishes they make!

Ms. Nielsen's class finished up their tour of the United States. Each student chose their own state and how they wanted to visually represent it. Thanks to some donors the students were able to shop for any supplies they needed and create their own projects in the classroom. They loved doing this!!

Good afternoon CJHS families! Just a reminder...many of our students are scheduled to attend Earth Day events at Carlyle Lake tomorrow. The weather forecast is calling for rain tonight into tomorrow which will create wet and potentially muddy conditions in some areas around the events. The rain is also supposed to bring cooler temperatures tomorrow as well, with a high temp projected to be 66 degrees. It is strongly recommended that students wear warm clothes and shoes that are suitable for these potential conditions tomorrow.
