The Carlyle Jr High FFa team was recognized in Springfield on Tuesday for winning the state middle school Dairy Cattle Evaluation CDE, which helps team members develop skills in dairy cattle selection and herd management. Teams evaluate the cattle's physical characteristics. Addison Golding was individually recognized as the high individual in the state middle school Dairy Cattle Evaluation CDE.

The Carlyle High School soccer team will be hosting it's annual youth soccer camp July 24th-27th from 6pm-7:30pm at the CHS soccer field. The camp is open to any boys and girls entering kindergarten through 8th grade. Applications are due by June 23rd to guarantee a t-shirt and soccer ball. Who doesn’t want to know how to naturally filter water, ya know for that rare chance you may be stranded on an island or lost in a forest. Mrs. Runge’s summer school students created their very own water filters today in class while learning about humans’ impact on the environment.
