Eleven students from Carlyle High School math team competed in the state regional at
Southwestern Illinois College on Feb. 22.
In the Algebra 1 section, Seth Fruend placed seventh, and in the Geometry section, Logan
Dall placed third place.
There were nine teams in 1A in the competition according to math teacher and adviser
Adrienne Wilson.
“Overall the competition is very tough but great exposure to different types of math
questions,” said Wilson.
The team will compete again in April at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
