Carlyle High School students Tanner Speiser and Ella Jordan will receive awards for

their supervised agricultural experience book.

Both students were interviewed over their books at Mount Vernon High School on Feb.

11.

Speiser is a senior at Carlyle High School and has just received his State FFA Degree.

A State Degree is the highest FFA degree that a student can receive while in high school.

To receive this degree, one must attend an interview about their supervised agricultural

experience book, which shows hours worked and payments received from work.

“This degree looks good on college and job resumes, and it’s something I can look back

on saying I did,” said Speiser.

Jordan is a sophomore at Carlyle High School and has just received her Star Greenhand.

The Star Greenhand is the supervised agricultural experience book that is awarded to the

sophomore with the best book.

Qualifications for the Star Greenhand are being a sophomore, having a supervised

agricultural experience book, filling out an application for entry, and attending an interview.

“I am glad I got experience interviewing through this event,” said Jordan.
