CHS students take their semester exams beginning Dec. 18 to wrap up the first semester.
The last exam will be given on Dec. 20.
On day one, the first hour exam begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 9:30 a.m. The second hour
exam begins at 9:35 a.m. and ends at 11:05 a.m. The third hour exam begins at 12:30 p.m. and
ends at 1:45 p.m.
This schedule repeats on the second day, and buses will run on the regular schedule.
On Friday, students will be dismissed for the semester at 11:05 a.m.
Lunch hours will vary depending on the student's last class of the day. Schedules have
been posted in classrooms throughout the school.
Sophomore, junior, and senior students could earn up to four exams depending on their
spring 2024 test scores.
If a student meets or exceeds the expected score on their SAT, PSAT, or Illinois State
Science Exam, they can earn an exemption in the class that correlates with the exceptional score.
If the student earned an exemption in both math and English SAT sections, they earned
an exemption of their choice.
Students will not be allowed to have electronic devices other than issued chromebooks
during the exam days, and they must have the needed materials for each exam.
Exams count as 20% of the students semester grade.
