Six CHS seniors were selected as Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Assistance

Commission this fall.

The Illinois Scholars Assistance Commission has a formula that they use to make their

selections. The formula takes test scores, class rank, and GPA into account when making the

selections.

Carlyle seniors Ethan Goodin, Daisy Brammeier, Sophia Hoffmann, Macey Golder, Lera

Schmeink, and Grace Hummel were selected as Illinois State Scholars for the 2024-2025 school

year.

“Being a state scholar is a prestigious award that students can put on scholarship

applications, college applications, and job resumes,” said counselor Tammy Branon.

Senior Ethan Goodin plans to attend Murray State University and says he will include

this information on his scholarship applications this winter.
