Library Gets New Organization

Librarian Baillie Johnson is working toward color coding library books by genre in the

Carlyle High School library.

Johnson is adding colored stickers with the name of the genre on the spine of all books.

The library is starting off by labeling the 11 most found genres on the shelves. These

include classic, dystopian, fantasy, historical fiction, horror, mystery, science fiction, sports,

suspense, and romance.

“This makes it easier for students to find books that are interesting to them without

having to read the synopsis of the book to see what genre it is,” said Johnson.

The cost for this process was under $100.
