Carlyle High School seniors are getting ready for college by attending college visits
organized by school counselor Tammy Branon.
Seniors can find information about these college visits on Branon’s Google Classroom,
the CHS counseling Facebook and Instagram pages, the CHS Facebook page, and school
announcements.
The college visits take place in the student resource office.
The colleges with upcoming visits planned for CHS include McKendree, University of
Illinois Urbana, and Greenville University.
The colleges reach out to Branon to set up a date and time to be at CHS. Students discuss
admission requirements and deadlines, scholarship requirements and deadlines, clubs,
organizations and athletics that are available, college visit days on campus, programs and majors
available on campus, and study abroad opportunities with representatives.
“The visits can help students picture themselves at that particular college,” said
administrative assistant Abby Drake.
Each visit usually lasts about 30 minutes, and the college’s cover everything students
need to know about them.
For more information, students can contact Branon at school or through email.
